What We're Looking For:

  • Provide engaging, entertaining and compelling editorial content for our owned channels, specifically for the app and website, to help tell the story of Chelsea and our teams.
  • Manage the daytoday editorial content on the club's official app.
  • Work with the wider editorial team to provide bestinclass written content, including close collaboration with the website, social media and video teams.
  • Create content that is suited for our global audience and help encourage new supporters reach the club.
  • Interview players for varied content franchises to be published on official Chelsea channels.
  • Report on pre and postmatch press conferences, working to a strict deadline to provide the Chelsea news first and accurately.
  • Provide bestinclass coverage of home and away fixtures, with a reactive and precise approach under pressure.
  • Work with our CRM team on how best to reach our global audience through push and inapp notifications via compelling content.
  • Actively seek out suitable written content pieces for the Chelsea app from all news outlets.
  • Pick up on trending topics that could be turned into suitable stories to use on Chelsea channels.
  • Proactively seek new opportunities for content and stories across the club's media ecosystem.
  • Help create and land interactive features on the app, including quizzes, polls and chat rooms.
  • Deliver relevant Partner and Commercial activations as required.
  • Work firstteam games, both home and away on a rota basis, including some European and global travel where required. Working some women's and Academy games may also be required on
Must Haves/qualified by demonstratable experience to the level required:

  • Proven experience working in digital media, preferably working for a global brand.
  • Knowledge of and interest in football and it is unique position within
  • A natural storyteller with exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as editorial judgement.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a solid eye for detail, and for a huge global audience. Able to demonstrate a passion, curiosity, and fluency in digital media as well as holding a sound editorial judgement.
  • A solid understanding of sports trends.
  • Must be comfortable with outofhours work and working reactively to tight deadlines.
  • Track record of increasing reach and engagement through own ideas and individual management of highprofile accounts.
  • Confident using a CMS and publishing to a global audience.
  • A good team player, with the ability to assist other members of communications department as required.
  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in professional football media would be preferred.
Nice to Haves

  • Three years working in professional football media.
