Description

The key elements of the Day Operatives team leader role include current role as a day operative such as the bulk out loading of finished products, quality control checks, Grain Intake, cleaning duties and the transferring of finished products.

Assist with maintenance of the flour and maize mills.

This roles additional purpose is to lease with the head miller to ensure cleaning schedules are completed, and help organise the team when covering sickness/holiday cover so that all areas of the department are covered.

Job Objectives & Key Tasks:

To efficiently and safely operate all equipment associated with the Day Operatives job role. This includes LGV shunting in the yard and Bulk Complex areas, FLT operation.
To operate the weighbridge system and the associated software.
Operate and understand all the Grain Intake procedures.
To carry out quality control checks, including laboratory testing and data input.
To carry out maintenance duties as required.
To carry out cleaning duties as per cleaning schedules and ensure the team completes these in a timely manner and lease with the head miller.
To transfer finished products to the Bulk Complex for loading.
To carry out all the necessary product protection checks, including tanker inspections and complete all the necessary paperwork.
To undergo training in relation to Health and Safety or other topics as required.
To organise the department when holiday/sickness cover required to ensure all roles are covered and lease with the head miller.
To ensure continuous improvement in the Day Operative operations.
To ensure that all Company procedures are adhered to, and to ensure that all site personnel treat customers, suppliers and other employees in a polite and courteous manner.
To ensure the safety of all personnel, contractors, visitors and members

Key Performance Indications:

Minimise the number of loads that are outside the business's customer service measure.
Minimise number of complaints relating to bulk out loaded product.
Minimise the number of accidents / near misses and potentials for injury within the department.
Minimise the number of audit/pest control nonconformances recorded within the department.

Pay:
Up to £36,848.59 per year
