***: We are looking for a Trainee Despatch Operative/Plate Maker to come and join our team at SGK in Bury.

You must be available to work shifts and have a full UK driving Licence.
Full training will be given.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Once fully trained your responsibilities will include

Pack all final delivery goods with firm materials and place on the correct label with address and receiver.
Work using both SGK's own system as well as various shipping company systems.
Make decisions to despatch jobs using the most cost effective, reliable & efficient methods.
To demonstrate good communication skills, commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility.
To work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Control both cardboard & wood recycling in the yard.
Keep a clean & tidy working environment.
Take in deliveries
Take delivery of various stock and put away in the correct places.
Using company vehicles to deliver or collect from local company's (Dependant on a full UK driving licence).
The role does include heavy lifting and a lot of manual handling.
Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a small team while also being self motivated to work alone.
Good computer skills required.
FLT license advantageous but not essential (training will be given)
During the initial training period the hours will be 10am 6pm.
After the initial training the successful applicant will be expected to work alternating shifts patterns.
Previous shipping/receiving experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Basic verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fastpaced and deadlineoriented environment.
Ability to work with and influence peers and management
Full UK Driving Licence
