We are currently seeking applicants who can clearly demonstrate relevant experience and associated training to safely undertake cargo handling and vessel loading/offloading activities.

Reporting to the Quayside Supervisor, and working 7 days on 7 days off shift, key responsibilities include:

Ensure uninvolved personnel are clear of the suspended loads
Assist in the coordination of all crane lifting operations
Assist in the transportation and logistics of lifting equipment
Responsible for ensuring that all equipment used is compliant with legislation
Contribute to the daytoday interface between lifting operations and any other affected areas
Assist in accurate control and tracking of all lifting equipment
Assist with the planning of lifting operations
Responsible for the cleanliness of the lifting operations/deck areas
Assist with the loading/unloading of containers and cargo handling
Regularly participate and contribute to the review of procedures, work aids and risk assessments
Continuously promoting a proactive HSSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance.
Actively participate in the Livesafe Intervention (LSI) process
Adhoc duties as required in line with applicable training/competency assessments undertaken

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

Team player and good communicator
Customer and safety focused with a proven track record within quayside operations.
Accustomed to working effectively in a fastpaced environment, flexible and can adapt to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
High levels of spatial awareness
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Solutions based with strong planning and organising skills, and an excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work standalone while a positive contributor to the wider team.
Motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Banksman Slinger (OPITO Stage 3/4)

5-15T Counterbalance Forklift truck licence
