About the role:


A rare opportunity has arisen at AXA Global Healthcare as a Financial Crime Officer, leading the maintenance and oversight of policies and procedures to ensure that the AXA entity meets its internal and external anti-financial crime obligations.


Working in the Compliance, Financial Crime and Governance team, the Financial Crime Officer will ensure compliance with AXA Group methodology, practice and policy, whilst also supporting and deputising for the Chief Risk Officer in their capacity as Sanctions officer & ABC officer.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at our Tunbridge Wells office, visiting clients or attending industry events.


What you'll be doing:


  • Support the Chief Risk Officer and the Head of Compliance, Financial Crime & Governance to develop, maintain and oversee the Financial Crime approach across the AGH Group of Companies. Including adherence to local regulation and AXA Group Policy. Specifically taking the lead on the oversight and management of the AXA Group Financial Crime Risk Assessments and reporting.
  • Effectively manage stakeholder relationships at all levels to ensure sound guidance and advice on day to day concerns and effective communication and resolution of financial crime issues. Reviewing with the stakeholders their financial crime risk status and actions being taken
  • Providing advice to the business in relation to sanctioned countries and permitted activity, overseeing the 2nd line Sanction Referrals process and ensuring compliance with AXA Group requirements, whilst supporting the team with queries relating to Sanction Referrals
  • Supporting the Chief Risk Officer in the management and oversight of Group and third party systems used by the business to manage sanctions risk.
  • Manage all aspects of Antibribery and corruption including providing advice, support the business to record logs, carry out third party due diligence and lead the ABC risk identification and assessment activity supported by the Chief Risk officer.
  • Support the Chief Risk Officer to establish an appropriate framework in line with requirements, ensure that relevant regulations are understood and ensure AXA Global healthcare continues to meet those obligations,
  • To represent Risk & Compliance on AGH project working groups and steering committees as required identifying any associated risks and promoting both the adoption of appropriate processes and a general awareness of risk and compliance requirements

About you:


What we're looking for:


  • Relevant experience working within a regulated financial services firm in a financial crime management role.
  • Ability to understand and assimilate complex information quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to develop strong professional relationships with functional champions and with management, requiring strong influencing and communication skills, and an ability to challenge both tactfully and in a value adding way.
  • Ability to effectively bring impact to the organisation in what they say, the way they interact, and the way they carry themselves.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good awareness of the financial services industry (health insurance industry preferred but not essential) and awareness of regulatory environments outside the UK.


As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
