SLR currently has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced HR generalist with strong business partnering and technical HR skills.

We're looking for an innovative, experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join us during an exciting period of growth.

  • Based in our Bristol or London office reporting to our Head of People, Europe you'll partner with key lines of business to create and drive strategic people plans that encourage greater engagement, to support SLR's ambition to make sustainability happen. You will also support key people projects including support to integrating new acquisitions.
    The role

You'll partner with key lines of business to co-create and drive strategic people plans that help to support our business growth.

You will help to resolve people challenges and also lead the people elements of key projects including support to integrating new acquisitions into your respective business areas.


  • This role will form part of the European People Leadership Team and will work collaboratively with other teams in the People function to deliver great people outcomes for the business.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
  • Partner your business areas to become the 'trusted advisor' to senior leaders and directors.
  • Help create and deliver Strategic People Plans in line with our business strategy and build organisational and people capability.
  • Working closely with the expert teams (Talent Acquisition, Talent & Learning, DE&I, HR Systems) in the European and Global People teams to advise and guide the business on appropriate core people processes and activities, in line with SLR's global People Calendar.
  • Provide Management Information and Insights to enable effective management of people, cost and risk.
  • Gather intelligence and share market trends with the business on best in class people management practices to influence the business strategy enabling SLR to become the preferred company to work for.
  • Ensure services and access channels to the People & Payroll Services team are understood and working effectively for your business areas.
  • Providing expert advice and coaching to line manager on a range of policy queries and employee relations issues, including performance management, discipline and grievance. Coach and support less experienced team members to develop knowledge.
  • Supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses, working with business and People team stakeholders to ensure a positive people integration experience.
  • Support on organisational design and change management, coaching business leaders on its effective implementation and strategies for successful change. Consider HR best practice in structure, handoffs into other business areas and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting projects and process improvements, working with other People Team

About you

You will possess the following skills and expertise:

  • Proven experience of operating as a HR Business Partner at a senior level, covering the full employee lifecycle
  • Experience of working collaboratively with a 'Centres of Expertise' HR operating model (e.g. Recruitment, Learning & Development, DE&I & HR Services)
  • Commercial and financial awareness with an understanding of the external market, company performance, market intelligence and business drivers.
  • Developed business acumen with an understanding how the business operates and being able to talk the business language.
  • Relationship and Account Management skills, to include negotiation, contracting, consultancy, facilitation, influencing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Able to coach senior managers including the ability to manage difficult discussions, to think and act strategically.
  • Member of the CIPD (Chartered preferred)
