Are you a motivated individual looking to work in a supportive team? Waterson Ward, based at Forston Clinic are looking for a Ward Clerk.


Waterson Ward is a 18 bed mixed acute assessment ward with a range of patient ages ranging from 18 to 64 providing treatment and care for a wide range of mental illnesses.


For this post you will need to have strong administration and organisational skills to support the multi-disciplinary team with the ward's administrative tasks.

You will need to have previous office-based experience, be self motivated, organised and a good communicator.

You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have a can-do approach towards meeting the needs of the team and the patients.


The Ward Clerk post is a part time role of 22.5 hours, core hours to be covered ideally would be 08:30 - 16:30 three days over the working week, we would be flexible providing the service needs are met.


You will be required to:


  • Ensure medical notes are organised, scanned and filled correctly
  • Report faults on the ward.
  • Take minutes' at ward meetings, this is desirable but not essential as training and support can be given.
  • Be organised, calm and have a helpful approach,
  • Have excellent IT skills.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support, while contributing to ensure an effective and efficient service.
  • The post will require the utilisation of good clerical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be reliable, patientfocused and have excellent communication and IT skills.


You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.


Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
