Hybrid Remote - Head office is Dudley - however regular travel between hospital sites would be expected but flexibility to work remotely as well.

Want to contribute to an exciting communications approach for a leading NHS Trust? If so, the role of Digital Communications and Design Officer at Black Country Healthcare NHS Trust could be for you.


If you have experience in a design/digital role, a track record of delivering creative digital communications and marketing solutions, experience in design and print, and working with medium to large-scale website content management systems, we'd love to hear from you.


Main duties of the job:


We aim to engage our key audiences (including patients, staff, GP practices, health commissioners, local authorities, health and voluntary sector organisations, and the public) in our work within our communities.


Reporting to the Communications and Engagement Manager, this role is critical in coordinating digital activity across our website, intranet, and social media channels.

The post holder will also take a hands-on approach to designing and producing materials such as graphics and leaflets.

This role requires excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise your own workload.

As a small and busy team, there are opportunities to work on a range of interesting projects across the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:

To develop and lead digital media and design, working within a dynamic and innovative Communications Team to drive effective digital and print strategies and plans to engage internal and external communities.

Maintaining and developing the Trust's public-facing website, creating engaging and useful online content that will drive more visitors to our site, help them find the information they need and keep their interest for longer.

Working with the Communications and Engagement team to build our influence on social media (including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn) by producing engaging content for our social media channels.

Maintaining and developing our staff intranet as a key communications tool that effectively engages with staff and shares key information and updates

Utilise appropriate analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of our digital communications and make recommendations on where improvements can be made.

Horizon scan for emerging digital innovations that may be beneficial for the Trust to adopt to better engage with our internal and external stakeholders.

Produce designed content such as publications, leaflets, advertisements, website and intranet banners, posters, presentations and more.
Produce multi-media content for our online channels.

Ensure consistent and accurate use of our Trust brand and help colleagues across the trust comply with identity and style guidelines.


Person specification:


Essential criteria:
Previous direct experience in a digital/design role
Design experience
Web and SEO experience
Social media experience
general content creation / engagement or campaigns experience


Desirable criteria:

Photography/video/audio experience
NHS, charity, voluntary or third sector experience
internal comms or project support experience

£27,055.00-£32,934.00 per year
