£19,000 FTE


Position Summary
The HR Assistant provides overall processing and administrative support to the Head of People.

Under the guidance of the Head of People assisting with the hiring and on boarding process, helping to create and schedule employee and volunteer training and entering records into the agreed systems.


This role plays a key part in maintaining live/up to date and accurate staff and volunteer data, as well as supporting various HR/Recruitment projects.

The role is responsible for the day to day management of the HR System. Ensuring all information is consistent, accurate and complete for all employees and volunteers.


Main Responsibilities

  • Dealing with first line HR and volunteer queries from employees, volunteers and stakeholders.
  • Managing recruitment, new starter and leaver documentation and processes.
  • Conducting righttowork and background checks for all prospective employees.
  • Scheduling of internal training events and external course booking including the release of the online training courses.
  • Arranging meetings and taking minutes.
  • Updating HR and volunteering statistics.

Duties

  • Achieve the level of computer competency as required for the role.
  • Participate in and contribute to the organisation's activities, events and meetings.
  • Undertake other duties which may be required by the organisation that are consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the role.

The organisation is committed to support continuous professional development (CPD).

There is an expectation that the post holder will complete mandatory and role specific training within the probationary period and maintain a level of competence throughout their employment with us.

Training includes Safeguarding, GDPR and Health and Safety. This list is not exhaustive.


Essential Skills and Attributes

  • This role requires a basic disclosure and barring service check.
  • 2 years' experience of working in an office environment.
  • To fully understand the needs for a high level of confidentiality is paramount.
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise multiple tasks, manage time effectively, work to a high standard and able to monitor work for quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with people across all levels of the business. Possess a high standard of written and spoken English.
