Applications are invited for this fixed term role as a Post-Mortem Support Officer in our Veterinary Services group based in Dumfries.

The main duty will be to provide post-mortem room and scientific support to veterinary staff.

Areas of activity include support of the duty vet in the post-mortem room and processing of diagnostic samples from post-mortem examinations and clinical pathology submissions.

There is also a requirement for QA activities within the centre.

Duties include:

Working in an environment that is governed by the ISO17025 standard.
Processing samples with regard to Health & Safety and adhering to SOPs.
Responsibility for monitoring the performance of equipment within the laboratory on a daily basis and reporting to the Line Manager.
Responsibility for designated housekeeping duties to ensure integrity of results reporting to the Line Manager.
Participating in appropriate IQA/EQA to maintain competency.
