The Job Role and Responsibilities:

Appointment Management: Register, book, amend, and cancel outpatient appointments in line with patient access policies.
- **Patient Interaction**: Handle incoming queries from patients, GPs, and other hospital staff, providing clear and sensitive communication.
- **Data Management**: Update patient demographics and maintain accurate records in the patient administration system.
- **Operational Support**: Assist with the registration of new patient referrals and ensure appointments meet clinical urgency and waiting time guidelines.
- **Coordination**: Work with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient outpatient services.
The Person Specification:

Experience: Previous customer service or administrative experience required. NHS administration experience and familiarity with patient administration systems are desirable.
- **Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.
- **Attributes**: Ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and manage conflicting priorities. Flexibility and adaptability to changing policies and procedures are essential.
