The Team


This key role, working within the Analytical Systems section, supports the Quality Department laboratories based in Cambridge to ensure that all laboratory instrumentation and systems are operational, validated, calibrated and available for use.

Role and responsibilities

This role will involve investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving instrument and analytical process issues.

The management, and upkeep of instrumentation and system documentation, including maintenance of SOPs for equipment and process, to follow regulatory guidelines and to ensure compliance across Mundipharma.

Ensuring the continued availability of analytical instrumentation to support the release, validation and stability activities performed by the Quality Department at the Bard facility.


Additional responsibilities will also include:

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve instrument and analytical process issues.
  • Perform maintenance and calibration activities to ensure the compliance of our products, and alignment to regulatory guidelines in the UK, EU, and rest of the world.
  • Accurate record creation, checking and completion using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Master Control document management system in compliance with Good Laboratory and Manufacturing Practice (GxP) principles.

These include, but are not limited to:

IQ/OQ, PQ, service documents and contracts.- Perform, record, and communicate the internal calibration and performance testing programme for all analytical instrumentation across the Quality Department at the Bard facility.

Ensuring that all activities are completed with mínimal disruption to laboratory workflows.- Plan and communicate scheduled servicing and maintenance activities with lab users.

Actively evaluates and maintains stocks of consumable and spare parts, placing orders and working with finance to ensure value is maintained.- Contribute fully to the development of analytical systems and procedures.

Maintain data integrity (DI) and ensure the Quality Laboratories operate efficiently and effectively.- Actively participate in the evaluation of new technology against current practices working within the Analytical Systems team and cross-functionally with Engineering, EH&S, Production, and Security.

What you'll bring- Previous experience working in an analytical laboratory in a support or maintenance role is ideal- Preferably have hands on experience of the maintenance and repair of HPLCs, GC, and other common laboratory equipment- Experience as Laboratory Technician / Junior Analyst would be ideal- Analytical Chemistry Degree or NVQ in a Science related discipline would be an advantage- Previous HPLC experience is ideal but not essential- Practical minded
