We have the opportunity for an experienced worker to join our Contact, Advice and Assessment Service (CAAS) as an Intervention Worker based within the Early Response Hub.

Please note that this is a job share role of 18.5 hours per week.


Job Share Conditions:
If one partner in this job-share arrangement leaves, the following options will be pursued:

  • The remaining partner will be offered the post on a full-time basis.
  • Another jobshare partner will be recruited.
  • Where a replacement cannot be recruited, suitable redeployment for the remaining partner will be considered.


If all of the above options are exhausted then the contract of the remaining partner may be terminated and a full-time replacement sought.


This role is primarily based within the Early Response Hub Assessment and Intervention however if the need arises due to worker leave or sickness, you may be required to work across the Early Response Hub within the Triage part of the team.

As part of the Intervention Worker role, tasks will consist of but not limited to:

  • Identifying support plans for children and their families within the working timescales for ERH.
  • Assessment of families' needs and responding to that need in line with West Berkshire Threshold Document.
  • Delivering focused, targeted interventions with families
  • Multiagency working
  • Group case discussions
  • Direct work with children and families


Offering advice and guidance to practitioners identified to lead on earlier help support provision such as the My Family Plan.


As Early Help is everyone's responsibility the role includes joint working with all colleagues across services to ensure that all aspects of a child's life experiences are captured.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year.

Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council's corporate buildings.
