Description

Sepura, a leading global supplier of critical communication radio systems, are expanding the Conformance Engineering team and have a new vacancy for a Conformance engineer / Senior Technician to work on the development of professional mobile radio products and accessories.


Based in our Cambridge development centre and reporting to the Conformance Team Leader, the applicant would take responsibility for a variety of engineering and administration tasks, with a focus on testing radio performance.

There will also be opportunities on occasion to gain experience working within the Electronics, Audio, and Mechanical departments.


Through either education or previous work experience you will have a working knowledge of electronics test and measurement and a high level of computing competency.


Work Scope

  • With support from engineers within the department, perform product testing, including:
  • Working with other disciplines (mechanical, electronics, RF, conformance) to create and execute test procedures
  • Executing tests on the company's automated test systems a
  • Performing ESD testing
  • Programming climate test chambers to run environmental test sequences
  • Entering test results into the company's test management tool
  • Software configuration of test samples
  • Maintaining our standards database and checking for updates in the published journals
  • Maintaining our intranet site with updated certificates and FAQs
  • Ensuring test equipment calibration is kept uptodate
  • Preparing product technical files for submission
  • Preparing product samples and supporting equipment for shipment to external test facilities
  • Requesting quotes from suppliers and raising Purchase Orders
  • Occasional work supporting the Electronics, Audio, and Mechanical
  • Progress reporting to project team and line manager

Essentialskills
andexperience**The applicant should have skills and experience in most of the following areas:
  • A working knowledge of electronics test and measurement techniques
  • High level of computing competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Soldering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of conformance tests like EMI/EMC

Desirableskills
andexperience**- Knowledge of Radio and EMC directives

  • Knowledge of different certification requirements for global market.
  • Knowledge of conformance tests like EMI/EMC
