Holiferm is a biotechnology company that develops sustainable and eco-friendly processes for manufacturing chemicals.

We are based in the Northwest of England with a research and development laboratory in Manchester, a pilot plant in Daresbury and a commercial plant in Wallasey, near Liverpool.

We developed our first process using our patented fermentation with gravity separation technology, which we use to produce sophorolipids, and have already taken this from R&D to commercial scale.

Our commercial plant produces our products at kilotonne scale for our global customers from local, independent companies to multinationals.

We are actively working on other processes to manufacture a range of molecules in order to diversify our portfolio, including rhamnolipids and MELs which will be introduced to market in 2024.

This will move us closer to our mission of removing the need to use petrochemicals, and allowing our customers to create 100% biobased formulations.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategy to take biosurfactants to market.
  • Maintain and build customer relationships to grow relationships with the company.
  • Contribute to corporate strategy in the areas of sales and production manufacturing to ensure that the company achieves its short and longterm objectives.
  • Feedback market drivers to the CTO for commercially led product development.
  • Direct and oversee sales staff to ensure that they are motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the sales team meet sales objectives.
  • Develop and control sales forecasts to ensure the executive team are aligned on production and sales expectations.
  • Work with manufacturing operations to ensure product is available to customers when required.
  • Maintain working relationships with all other directors to ensure effective coordination of all company activities in support of corporate objectives.
  • Act as the company's main adviser on all issues relating to sales and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position and report to the board.
  • Line management of the commercial team.

Knowledge skills and experience required

  • Has a "Can do" and "positive" attitude
  • Significant industry experience and proven track record selling surfactants or related chemicals
  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles e.g., supply chain, customer service and how they link to commercial
  • Thorough knowledge of the company and its products and processes
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and sales performance data
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent decisionmaking skills
  • Prepared to get their "hands dirty"
