Description
We are seeking a Bereavement Officer to work in our challenging but rewarding Bereavement Service. Over 1,000 people a year die at Ashford and St. Peters Hospitals.

Our aim is to provide a caring and professional service to ensure that bereaved families and friends receive the right documents and support that they need in order to carry out of the wishes of their loved ones.

We also make sure that the Trust complies with the legal requirements and regulations when somebody dies.

This is not a counselling service; our focus is to ensure excellent administration following a death.

However, as our Bereavement Officers speak and meet with bereaved families and friends every day, we are looking to recruit somebody who is able and committed to providing a kind and compassionate service to people at an extremely stressful time.

You must be able to work confidently and autonomously. This is a busy office with competing and constant demands. Experience of working in the NHS or with the bereaved is desirable but not essential. It is much more important to be able to demonstrate excellent administration skills and the right attitude.
