LARA Search are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with primary students with autism and complex needs and make a real difference to their lives.

Job Position:
Learning Support Assistant for a primary school in Walthamstow

Position Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing highquality support to our students, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individual learning plans and provide onetoone support as needed.
You will be a team player with excellent communication skills, and have the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with autism and complex needs
Helping to develop and implement individual learning plans and tracking student progress
Supporting students with activities of daily living (e.g., toileting, feeding, dressing) as required
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students
Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

Essential requirements for the role include:

Experience working with students with autism on a 1:1 basis.
Able to carry our intervention classes as required.
Experience supporting students within a primary school setting.
Able to work 8.30am 3.30pm on a fulltime basis.
Have a clear enhanced DBS or willing to pay for one.
Understanding of the principles of positive behaviour support
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and supportive manner
Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a related field
