We currently have an opportunity for an Associate Transport Planner to join our busy and growing South West Transport Planning team, based in Bristol, Taunton or in our new office in Exeter.

The role would suit an experienced transport planner with a broad understanding of all elements of the transport planning profession but with a focus on transport planning for land development projects.


Our Taunton office is located on the outskirts of the thriving county town with excellent access to the beautiful Somerset countryside and nearby beaches and coastline.

Our Bristol office is based in the in the beautiful Queen Square, at the heart of the city centre—just a short walk away from the stunning harbourside and Temple Meads train station.

Our new office at Exeter Science Park is part of our exciting plans for expansion in the South West, giving us a greater reach to our clients and the community in the region.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects from larger and more complex strategic land development proposals through to smaller sites, in addition to strategic infrastructure delivery and public sector commissions.

This role will enable you to develop your transport planning skills and abilities alongside our broader multi-disciplinary offering.


You will work amongst a team of seasoned transport professionals and will oversee all aspects of our projects from inception to completion.

You will help lead our team, develop client relationships and support the delivery of a wide range of regional and national projects.

You will mentor and guide more junior colleagues in the effective delivery of high-quality transport assessments, travel plans, transport modelling and environmental assessments.


You will work closely with other senior members of our Transport team to deliver key and important projects for our clients while identifying and securing opportunities to diversify our client base.

You will influence policy and develop strategy.

About You
Ideally Chartered, you will be degree qualified ideally in transportation, geography, engineering or a related field.


You will have experience and understanding of the planning system and experience with Transport Assessments, Travel Planning, junction modelling / analysis and experience of relevant software packages.

Strong numerical skills are important and you will have experience with budget and quality management at project level.

If you are not Chartered then you should ideally be working towards it, for example through the Transport Planning Professional (TPP) route.
