You will contribute and commit to promoting a positive team-based attitude, striving for the highest standards of service in order to lead the Reception Team and deliver excellent secretarial support to the Department and Management Team.

The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Records and Reception Services.


You will be responsible for dealing with all rotas, training, sickness absence, data quality and first-line management relating to the Department.

The role requiring you to have excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. You will need to communicate effectively, taking the appropriate action when needed e.g. when taking dealing with complains, analysing the situation and surroundings.

  • You will ensure that all staff are appropriately trained and competences are assessed.
  • You will be proactive in the training and promotion of data quality and excellent customer service.
  • You will deal with complaints and concerns from patients, assisting in directly them to the appropriate service.
  • You will be responsible in maintaining a good understanding of the Trust Patient Access Policy and RTT procedures associated with outpatient appointments and admissions, liaising with other teams as necessary and ensuring all appointments are dealt with appropriately.


The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.


The Trust provides services in all of the surgical and medical specialties common to a District General Hospital with some specialist services.
