You will be responsible for supporting the Chair in helping them to deliver their various responsibilities across the breadth of their remit.


Although this will vary on a day-to-day basis such responsibilities may include: Acting as a first point of contact for SWL & London Chairs, Non-Executives, Executive Teams, and key stakeholders such as NHS England (both Nationally and Regionally); other Health partners and Local Government; Working with senior members of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, SWL ICB and NHS England Regional team to ensure the Chair is appropriately briefed Drafting correspondence on the Chairs behalf Drafting speaking notes and speeches for the Chair; Lead on specific pieces of work, projects and workstreams; Providing advice in specific areas; Acting on the Chairs behalf when asked to; Helping to plan a meeting or event; Ensuring that key issues and topics are addressed appropriately; You will work closely between the Chair and the CEOs of both the Trust and ICB, ensuring that there is co-ordination between the Chairs role in both organisations.

You will also work closely with the NHS England Regional team in helping to deliver and facilitate the Chairs various responsibilities at regional level.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The post holder will:

Proactively support the Chair in delivering all of their responsibilities across their portfolio of work at both the Trust and ICB; Act as a first point of contact for SWL & London Chairs, Executive Teams, Non-Executives, and key stakeholders such as NHS England (both Nationally and Regionally); other Health partners and Local Government; Working with teams from across various organisation ensure that the Chairs priorities and diary are managed and co-ordinated and joined up across their portfolio of work; Work with senior members of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, SWL ICB and NHS England Regional team to ensure the Chair is appropriately briefed Lead on specific pieces of work, projects and workstreams; Be responsible for ensuring the Chair is prepared for upcoming meetings and events (for example, providing briefing, drafting speaking notes; leading on the agenda setting process where needed) Attend meetings with the Chair to capture actions and be responsible for the subsequent tracking and delivery of such actions; Pro-actively manage the Chairs diary to ensure time is effectively prioritised keeping them informed and updated on relevant issues, commitments and responsibilities, prioritising and following up as appropriate; Prioritise incoming issues, correspondence and concerns addressed to the Chair, which will include those of a sensitive and highly confidential nature, determining the appropriate course of action, referral or response; Act as an effective channel of communication between the CEOs of both Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, SWL ICB, Non-Executive Directors/ Members of each organisation and the Chair and managing any blocks to successful communications; Exercise sound judgement, being aware of role boundaries, to ensure that key business items and decisions are identified, progressed and followed up accordingly, escalating when needed; Anticipate and identify the Chairs needs and concerns and ensure that appropriate action is taken without requiring their instruction It is possible that you will need to accompany the Chair to meetings and on some visits; It is also likely that you will be expected to spend a proportion of their time at Lewisham and Greenwich Trust in order to ensure you are familiar with different aspects of the Chairs portfolio and the relevant stakeholders; and Provide support to the CEOs of the SWL ICB and Trust in any way agreed with the Chair.

Key Working Relationships Establish and maintain excellent relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.


This will include the SWL and London Chairs, CEOs, Executive and Non-Executive teams in various organisations across London ICB Executive team, Local Authorities, patients/service users, MPs and Councillors.

Present information and issues, explaining highly complex issues, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, when required; Maintain good relationships with offices around London to ensure smooth diary management.

Financial and Physical Resources Monitor, validate and authorise invoices using the SBS system for both the ICB and Trust, in line with organisation processes.

Deliver against organisational objectives, achieving quality outcomes, prioritising own workload and working to tight deadlines.
