Position SummaryMagellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor
Full Time Permanent Contract
40 hours per week
Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pM/Friday 7:30am - 1:30pm

Unionised site - works in partnership with Unite the Union.
To co-ordinate and oversee all maintenance activity on site including preventative and reactive maintenance for plant, machinery and equipment. To organise and facilitate projects and machine installations as required in a machine tool environment. To actively support the development of the maintenance team and maintenance processes through shared knowledge and experience. This role will require good levels of communication and organisation.

Responsibilities:
To carry out and organise all maintenance requirements as provided by the Production Manager and Management team whilst ensuring maintenance targets are met.
Facilitate daily checks on plant & machinery by the maintenance team to ensure that they are fit for purpose recording findings in maintenance logs.
Organise and carry out routine servicing of equipment / machinery according to the preventative maintenance schedules
To react efficiently and effectively to machine breakdowns allocating the appropriate resource to be able to problem solve causes of breakdown and decide the appropriate course of action to take to resolve the issue in a timely and safe manner.
Responsible for the requisition of required spares from suitable suppliers in line with maintenance department procedures and to the approval of the Production Manager.
To ensure the Health and Safety of self and others within the department and to work according to company standards.
Responsible for ensuring the maintenance team adhere to safe and good working practices ensuring all identified hazards are reported directly to the Production Manager and Health & Safety Specialist.
Development of team members through shared knowledge and experience.To work in conjunction with the maintenance team to train operators on correct start-up and shutdown procedures for all machinery.
Work directly with management to co-ordinate the layout and siting of factory equipment to provide improved work flow areas, supporting the movement, commissioning and de-commissioning of machines and equipment as required.
Review all on site maintenance processes on a regular basis developing improved methods to reduce downtime and cost save for the business.
Work directly with the Health & Safety Specialist to support the development and review of risk assessments relating to the operation and upkeep of process machinery and site infrastructure.
To maintain the 6S standard at all times
Any other reasonable duties required by management in support of the business
Skills / Knowledge Requirements
Academic:
Good general education
Professional Accreditations:
Time served recognised engineering background with a minimum of City and Guilds, ONC, HNC, NVQ in electrical/mechanical engineering
Crane, FLT, Sling and cherry picker licenses desirable but not essential
Experience:
Minimum 3 years hand on experience in a maintenance environment (CNC preferable)
Aerospace industry experience would be a benefit but not essential
Detailed of knowledge of other maintenance activity such as electrical and plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics etc
Knowledge of relevant HS&E legislation
Key Competencies:
Basic IT skills

Knowledge of Manual Handling

Skills:
Excellent problem solving, decision making and time management skills
Knowledge of Siemens, Fanuc and Heidenhain controlled machines
High level of hand to eye co-ordination
Read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
Abilities:
Be able to communicate both written and verbally at all levels
To work with minimum supervision

Flexible in approach and a team player
Willingness to undertake and provide further training and development as required
