The Opportunity:

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner SEN school in Wirral.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with SEN.

This is a September start position, allowing you to make a significant impact from the beginning of the academic year.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone and small group support to students with SEN, assisting with their learning and personal development.
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment where students feel valued, encouraged, and supported.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to education.
  • Observe and record student progress, behaviour, and achievements, providing feedback to the class teacher.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with students with SEN in an educational setting (desired but not essential).
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN in their educational journey.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the individual needs of students and the changing demands of the classroom.
  • A proactive and positive approach to learning and professional development.

To be considered for this position you will:

  • have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
  • Be a committed professional
  • Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person

- have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
