The Opportunity:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner SEN school in Wirral.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with SEN.
This is a September start position, allowing you to make a significant impact from the beginning of the academic year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide oneonone and small group support to students with SEN, assisting with their learning and personal development.
- Support the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment where students feel valued, encouraged, and supported.
- Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to education.
- Observe and record student progress, behaviour, and achievements, providing feedback to the class teacher.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEN in an educational setting (desired but not essential).
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN in their educational journey.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the individual needs of students and the changing demands of the classroom.
- A proactive and positive approach to learning and professional development.
To be considered for this position you will:
- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
- have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
