You will be Line managed and supported by motivated and experienced local managers, the role of a Youth Early Help Support Worker is to be part of a team providing help, Support and guidance to young people and their families.


Youth Work is a key part of Kent's Early Help offer, with friendly and supportive environments which offer a wide range of sessions, activities and events to help develop and support in their lives and in their local communities, these include music, art, sports, personal development and much more.

Your role will require you to have a approachable and non
- judgemental attitude and provide an environment that is welcoming and supportive to all young people who attend sessions at our Youth Hub and Detached offer, making sure that sessions are set up for the planned activities, solving resource problems quickly, responding flexibly to changes in the Hub's programme, contributing to the planning, delivery and evaluating of activities, working in line with the Senior Early Help Worker (Youth).


You will need to have a multiple skills, these could be art, sports, music or a range of personal development skills and be able to offer young people a variety of opportunities that can be developed to provide young people with valuable outcomes.

You will also support young people to develop life skills, gain employment or training opportunities and promote healthy living.

Applicants will need to be able to work as part of a team and have an understanding of multi-agency work, as well as work using their own initiative.


This post, alongside creativity and good communication, requires flexibility, innovative thinking, and good organisation skills and also requires a positive young person-centred approach.

An induction programme will be provided and on-going training to support your training needs.

  • The role will involve working youth work sessions predominantly during the evenings but may include occasional weekend working, or working across the district. Evening sessions usually run from 18:0021:00 and you may be required to support session from 14:3017:30._


The Job Description for this role is generic and covers Early Help Support Workers in both Children's Centres and Youth Hubs, this role is based within a Youth Hub.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
