Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the key focus of this role is to maintain the day to day function of the payroll department and to support the business where necessary.


Who you are

  • Experience with Success Factors, or similar integrated HR/payroll systems.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders to drive the business forward.
  • Multisite, ideally Retail, experience.
  • Comfortable supervising others.
  • Demonstrating focus, passion and drive in all areas of your work.
  • Using initiative and being proactive in style.
  • Being flexible, adaptable and open to change.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Time management and good prioritising skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and multitask.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Report writing experience.
  • Takes pride in their own work and that of the department.
  • Customer focused.

What you'll be doing

  • Ownership of the UK Retail Payroll for c1000 employees, supported by the rest of the Payroll Team.
  • Ensuring accurate processing of the International Payrolls, keeping to the 3rd party SLA where applicable.
  • Ensuring the reporting of the weekly cost and hours is accurate and sent to Finance on a timely basis.
  • Create journals/reports and accruals relating to payroll, sending to Finance as per internal deadlines.
  • Review of current working practices and systems recommendations for areas of improvement in terms of both manual and systems driven processes.
  • Identify and implement service efficiency improvements.
  • Liaison with Retail Ops management and occasional attendance at area meetings.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages to all Reiss employees.
  • Day to day support to the rest of the team, ensuring that they are adequately trained/engaged and that their work is both timely and accurate.
  • Keep abreast of all developments and legislation surrounding payroll, pensions and benefits. Ensuring all legislation is implemented and adhered to by Reiss.
  • Assisting with yearend procedures, including preparation and distribution P11Ds.
  • Responsible for resolving pay queries, correction of errors, costing adjustments etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring all statutory and voluntary payroll deductions are paid to appropriate bodies in a timely manner.
  • Attendance at both internal and external meetings as required.
  • Deputise for the Payroll Manager in their absence.
