We're seeking a Engineering Leader for one of our customers, a leading provider of mission-critical water and wastewater treatment solutions, offering a broad portfolio of products, services, and expertise to support industrial, municipal and recreational customerswho value water.


Position Summary

Engineering Leader
Accountable for developing a multi-disciplinary engineering team and strengthening the engineering rigor of a growing business.

This wide-ranging role, which reports to the Site Leader will interface with Technology & Innovation and Business Development teamsto implement New Product Introduction initiatives within the portfolio while also owning sustaining engineering activities within existing operations.

The engineering function will play a critical role in the successful development and industrialization ofour customer's green hydrogen offering and as such the Engineering Leader role is critical to the growth plans of the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the multidisciplinary engineering team and establish the necessary governance to successfully support various stakeholders:
  • Ensure adequate focus on both NPI and sustaining engineering activities
  • Partner with the Sales, Inventory & Operational Planning leader to support the development of complex commercial offers and to plan ahead in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Support the EHS, Quality and Production teams to solve complex problems and identify technical solutions to safety and quality problems in support of continuous improvement and customer fulfilment.
  • Collaborate with Procurement when needed to develop suppliers to ensure that customer CTQ's are conveyed and met.
  • Coach, mentor and develop a team of engineers and ensure adequate education and development of skills to remain experts within their fields.
  • Ensure adequate knowledge management/transfer, talent development and succession planning.
  • Work to develop standards and improve manufacturing quality and efficiency through the deployment of best practices such as DesignforX.
  • Lead the team responsible for new manufacturing and process improvement projects, managing CAPEX investments for production equipment, including managing the process for surfacing needs and developing business cases to secure investment approval, untilequipment commissioning.
  • Implement a worldclass process qualification framework in close collaboration with colleagues in Technology & Innovation and Quality.
  • Ensure that all products have adequate qualitycontrol plans to ensure that criticaltoquality customer requirements are always delivered.
  • Support problemsolving activities for complex problems to ensure thorough root cause analysis and robust corrective and preventative action implementation, sustained through updating engineering standards where relevant.

Competencies

  • Ability to foster collaboration and networking and motivate people to solve challenges creatively.
  • Experience with industrial automation and transformation of manufacturing practices.
  • Experience with project management of greenfield manufacturing sites desirable.
  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business challenges and recommend appropriate improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities as well as attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts. Proven ability to work in a team environment between the functions of Technology, Sales, Procurement, Planning, Manufacturingand Finance, and interact regularly with senior management regarding goals and accomplishments.
  • Energetic flexible, collaborative and proactive team leader who welcomes challenges with a growth mindset and a 'cando' attitude.

Educational requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering or Engineering Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading technical teams.
  • Ability to communicate in both Dutch and English preferred.
  • Experience with Odoo, SAP, Oracle or other planning/MES software packages.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with 2D and 3D design software such as AutoCAD Inventor, SolidWorks etc.
  • Project Management training such as PMI preferred.
  • Sixsigma Black Belt preferred with knowledge of SPC and software such as Minitab.
