**The Company
**Able Bridge Recruitment have been approached by one of our customers in Edinburgh, to support them in the recruitment of a permanent purchase ledger clerk. The role has been the result of an employee embarking on a new career venture which will seethem moving into an entirely new profession.

The role sits within an established finance team, reports into the accounting supervisor and will be office based.

**The Responsibilities
**The purpose of this role is to ensure the purchase ledger function within the organisation is accurately maintained and the supplier invoices are paid within agreed time frames.

**On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
**Ensure that all purchase invoices are processed onto the businesses ERP/Finance system.
Proactive engagement with heads of departments to gain approval for invoice spend.

Review purchase ledger work of colleagues (both in finance and out of finance), to ensure accuracy of input (coding, cost centre, PO etc).

Reconcile supplier statements to ensure over and under payment risk is mitigated.
Process foreign currency invoices and ensure exchange rate fluctuations are appropriately accounted for.
Review any purchase ledger intercompany transactions to ensure these are accurately reflected in the accounts.

Assistance with the resolution of queries from internal and external stakeholders to ensure these do not delay payments or impact on the customer journey.

**The Requirements
**We require an experienced purchase ledger clerk (minimum of 2 years recent UK experience), and somebody who is looking to join a thriving business for the long term. The organisation uses a well known finance system in the industry, however we arenot looking for someone who has used one or another system. We do however require the individual to be highly PC literate and to have a desire to learn if they have not used this specific system. Personal attributes that we are looking for include an outgoingpersonality, confident, flexible and helpful.
