Special Events Assistant in a disability charity.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a successful Fundraising team.

You will provide key support in the organisation of the Special Events programme including sourcing prizes, managing guest lists, marketing and liaising with suppliers and thanking supporters.


Main responsibilities:


  • Providing key support in the organisation of the Special Events programme including sourcing prizes, managing guest lists, marketing and liaising with suppliers and thanking supporters.
  • Providing administrative support in the planning and implementation of our challenge, running and cycling portfolio taking responsibility for the management and delivery of a challenge event in the portfolio.
To be successful in this role you will ideally be experienced in providing administrative and/or event support.

Special Events

  • To support the Special Events Manager with key elements of activity within the special events portfolio.
  • To provide administrative support to MDUK's guests and participants including the current special events Microscope Ball, Celebrity Sports Quiz, Q Trust Quiz, Golf Day and Clay Pigeon Shoot, oneoff bespoke events and future developments.
  • Provide support for the Special Events committee meetings and members.
  • With the support of the Special Events Manager and the digital team, to take the lead on special events social media presence
  • Management of Special Events prizes, stock and inventory at Head Office
Ride London & Other Events

  • Project manage and deliver the RideLondon event. Ensure the recruitment of a full team of cyclists and delivery of an excellent supporter care package and that income and expenditure targets are met.
  • To support the Challenge Events and Regional Development team in the administration, planning and implementation of our running and trek portfolio. Ensuring participants receive the best in donor care; offering advice, support and encouragement. Delivering after event materials to acknowledge and thank participants.
  • To support the Philanthropy and Partnerships team with delivering their events portfolio which includes our Vice Presidents Lunch at the House of Lords.
General

  • To work with the Digital team to create and update event related web pages on the Muscular Dystrophy UK website and appropriate related external websites. Be the social networking ambassador for the special events team regularly providing content through LinkedIn, Instagram and twitter.
  • To ensure that uptodate computerised and manual records are kept, relating to existing and potential event participants with responsibility of monitoring income totals and thanking.
  • To handle enquiries that come through the fundraising hotline and events team inbox, from taking donations to answering queries from supporters
  • To handle any other duties as defined by the Events and Regional Development team.
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends to support the team needs at events, and support MDUK's participants and guests.
