YYou will perform the CJ Supervisor role as part of a cluster based Criminal Justice team.

Criminal justice (CJ) is a core function of policing and the corner stone for achieving fair prosecutions; the quality of files significantly affects our partner agencies and plays a vital role in the service that we provide to the public.

If we fail in our preparation of a prosecution file, we will not get the outcomes that our victims deserve and it undermines all the investigative work that was done up to that point.

Each Cluster will have a CJ team located at a central CJ Hub that perform all aspects of CJ work including file check/build, bail management, typing/admin and witness care.

We are looking for someone who has or is working in the CJ service area with experience dealing with CJ prosecution files and liaising with CJ Partners.

You must also have a good track record of leading a team to deliver an excellent customer service, able to manage staff development, performance and attendance.

Acting as a buffer you will manage links to both Officers and external agencies such as the CPS & HMCTS, to improve court outcomes for victims and witnesses.

You will be expected to perform functions in support of judicial processes around the tracking, quality assessment, preparation and submission of files, documents and digital information.

You will provide specialist knowledge; advice and support to operational officers in file build and case progression.

For this role you will need to be highly motivated and flexible, with the ability to work under pressures and specific deadlines.

Good decision maker providing a high level of service to customers and able to lead your team to work effectively and efficiently.

It will be important to be accurate, good at problem solving and working to a high standard with a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System.

Greater Manchester Police have been informed of potential personal tax implications for members of the 1987 Police Pension Scheme, who retire and take a pension between the ages of 50 and 54 inclusive and then take up employment as a Police Staff member.

Members of the police pension scheme whose age is between 50 and 54 who are re-employed as a Police Staff member have to meet certain conditions to keep their PPA and to protect against personal tax liability charges on any payments paid before the age of 55.

One of those conditions is that a break of at least 1 month is required where the re-employment is 'materially different'.

However, if the role is not deemed to be 'materially different' then a 6 month break is required.
