What will you be doing:


You will be involved with all aspects of the 'Acquire to Retire' business process for the UK and countries / markets serviced by the EMEA Finance Shared Service Centre ("SSC") as part of the Fixed Asset Team.

This will include processing of completed capital expenditure requests and be responsible for the maintenance of the fixed asset registers for the EMEA region, ensuring that transactions are processed timely and accurately in line with company policy and internal control requirements and reported in line with the corporate timetable.

You will have a key role in asset tracking activities, overseeing asset tagging activities and the physical verification programme, including site visits and working with the business to identify assets.

You will also assist in maintaining the lease accounting system for the EMEA region.


Essential Functions & Accountabilities:


Capex Projects

  • Review and set up approved CapEx requests in financial systems (Baan General Ledger and Oracle EPM)
  • Reconcile the construction in progress and related general ledger accounts.

Fixed Assets

  • Maintain UK and EMEA fixed asset registers on RAM fixed asset software, processing additions, disposals, transfers and adjustments based on authorised forms received from the business.
  • Process monthly depreciation outputs from RAM and upload to the Baan General Ledger System.
  • Reconcile the fixed asset and related general ledger accounts.
  • Input of monthly fixed asset financial data into Oracle EPM for corporate reporting.
  • Oversee physical verification programme for fixed assets and process outputs of verification programme on fixed asset register.
  • Maintain asset tag register and issue new asset tags.
  • Compile fixed asset reports and documentation required by internal and external auditors.
  • Respond to information requests from and provide support on fixed asset issues and queries to business stakeholders (both finance and nonfinance).
  • Complete National Statistics information requests.

Leases

  • As required, liaise with UK and EMEA sites to ensure submission of lease documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining the UK and EMEA lease accounting system, processing new leases and adjustments based on submissions received from the business.
  • Assist with the preparation of journals and balance sheet reconciliations.

What skills and experience should you have?


You must be able to embrace and be open to change, operate in a dynamic environment, manage workload and multiple deadlines effectively in conjunction with other team members, display good professionalism and organisational skills, maintain confidentiality as necessary and have good verbal and written communication skills whilst supporting the principles of a SSC by understanding the needs of the customer, aiming to exceed customer expectations, and adopting a continuous improvement approach.

You will have experience of working in a dynamic and international finance function, preferably in a Shared Service environment. Additionally, experience of integrated ERP systems (e.g. Oracle R12 (preferred), SAP), and knowledge and understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements would be advantageous.
