We are seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join the Finance Team here at Historic England on a 2-year fixed term contract.
This is an important role in which you will be responsible for accurately checking and processing payment transactions in line with organisational and customers' Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators, providing efficient and effective administrative support.

You will take ownership for the Accounts Payable tasks and workflows assigned to you including accurately process supplier invoices, grants, payment requests, identify and communicate processing queries, and other associated transactions, including BACS rejects, cancelled and uncleared cheques, in line with desk procedures.

- A high level of numerical and verbal reasoning.
- Team playerConfident and articulate when communicating verbally or in writing with a range of people. The ability to explore issues to ensure all facts are established
- A good attention to detail/ accuracy
- Problem solving skills
- Responsibility and ownership of tasks to meet various service deadlines
