**Account Manager
Leading Business Membership Organisation
London - Hybrid flexible working (average 2-3 days per month in office)
Working hours - 9-5 or some flexibility needed mornings and evenings for events)
Full time permanent role

Basic Salary:
£40k-£41k**

My client a leading business membership organisation based in Central London is currently for an Account Manager

The Role


The overarching objective for the Sector Account Manager is to be the critical accountable owner for the volume and value of the community and membership growth within a given Sector(s) and Special Interest Group(s).

They are responsible for delivering sales/recruitment,engagement, trade up and retention according to plan targets.

Working closely with Events, Propositions, (including Services and Sponsorship), Community, Communications, Policy, International and IT.


Job Duties

  • Acting as the central point of ownership and expertise with a specific focus on sales/recruiting, engaging, trading up and retaining paid for memberships and community growth delivering against set targets.
  • Building a specialist sector expertise and maintain an up to date knowledge on trends, competitors and key players through desk research and attending industry events.
  • Facilitating introductions.
  • Actively use CRM to determine optimum contact approaches based upon understanding of member lifecycles, activities, engagement, engagement and renewal indicators.
  • Administering as relevant and as agreed with the Head, any associations/ committees for sector or special interest group.
  • Demonstrate flexible and adaptable approach to business needs at any given time
  • Contribute to a motivated, respected and highly knowledgeable team of professionals focused on overall success of the wider team.
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the management.

Person Specification

  • Experience in Business to Business Sales, Account Management and renewals
  • Strong customer orientation with a focus on customer insight to drive improvements
  • Ability to build sectoral and special interest and knowledge and keep abreast of issues and trends
  • Track record of coaching and mentoring staff to build performance
  • Commercial awareness with strong persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Numerate with financial awareness
  • Strong networking and relationship skills, ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and telephone communication skills
  • Ability to adapt creatively to stakeholder and customer needs
  • Strong and collaborative influencer, able to operate effectively at all levels
  • Team player, also able to work independently with high levels of personal drive
  • Highly performance and target oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and effective administration
  • Lead and data management
  • Proven ability to deliver against or exceed targets
  • Willing to attend events and trade shows out of hours
