Ascot hosts around 600,000 racegoers a year across 26 race days, 300,000 of whom come to the five days of Royal Ascot.

Royal Ascot capacity can reach an attendance of 75,000 on a day. Ascots conference and events business welcomes a further 200,000 customers a year outside racing.


Ascot aims to offer its racegoers something for everyone who wishes to be involved, and Royal Ascots offerings reflect this through the entry level Windsor picnic enclosure, the mid-tier Village enclosure, the central Queen Anne Enclosure and ultimately the Royal Enclosure.

And incorporating up to 7000 racegoers in a wide range of private box and restaurant fine dining facilities.

JOB ROLE


Mechanical/ Electrical TeamLeader will be responsible for co-ordination, as directed by the Facilities Managementteam, in the delivery of all Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing elements acrossAscot Racecourse.

You will provide building services engineering to support thelong
- term maintenance, longevity, day to day operation and management of theMechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Team. You will provide knowledge of operationand building infrastructure, including mechanical and building fabric.


PRINCIPALRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the peoplemanagement of the M&E Team and acts as a role model in setting exactingstandards of personnel commitment.
  • Responsible for Health andSafety within the M&E Team and contractors under your direct control,making sure that RAMS are received, filed, and followed.
  • To be responsible forraising orders against M&E budget lines, making sure any overspends arecommunicated and agreed with the FacilitiesManager.
  • To agree shift patterns with the FacilitiesManager to minimise overtime.
  • To ensure and maintain theestate in accordance with operating procedures.
  • To undertake regularinspections of the estate, making sure any faults are repaired withindeadlines.
  • To conduct regular testsof alarms and systems, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately andkept up to date.
  • To be responsible forprocurement of materials, tools, and service providers for maintenance taskswith the Support of the Facilities Management team.
  • Plan project budgets withFacilities Manager and M&E Manager
  • Supervise the running ofM&E projects in support of the M&E Manager including consulting withother Team Leaders to implement skills such as Maintenance, ICT etc.
  • To Provide out of hourscall out on a 1 in 4week basis.
  • Produce weekly reports forthe Facilities Team Manager.
  • Produce weekly plannersfor the team to understand the needs and wants of the business.
  • Sign off projects with keystakeholders.
  • Take accountability foroutcomes.

OTHERRESPONSIBILITIES

  • SupportRacedays as applicable but ensure shift patterns reflect required cover.
  • Suchother duties as the Company may, at times, reasonably require.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recognised formal Mechanicalor Electrical qualification (City and Guilds or equivalent)
  • Considerable experience asa building service engineer for a large organisation.
  • Reading and understandingof drawings.
  • Handson experience ofbuilding services and building management control systems.
  • Knowledge of relevantHealth & Safety, Electricity at Work regulations and COSHH requirements.
  • Experience of faultfindingtechniques.
  • Experience of leading ateam.
  • Computer literate with agood standard of ICT knowledge including Microsoft Office.
