Full Time - 35 Hours per Week

Fixed Term Contract, from Summer 2023 to March 31, 2026


We are looking for a Research Associate in Interactive Data Visualisation to contribute to the development, operation, and support of research for the FCDO-funded and Peace and Conflict Resolution Evidence Platform (PeaceRep) at the University of Edinburgh Law School.


The Opportunity:


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • MA degree or equivalent in practical experience in data visualisation or a related discipline; or equivalent research/academic experience undertaken.
  • Proven track record of using interactive methods to display datasets to high finished quality, including data visualisations.
  • Excellent programming and software development skills for web and visualization development, particularly in tools such as , Vegalite, Python vis library, Tableau, or Power BI, to support the development of timelines, maps, and network plots.
  • Excellent visual and visualization design skills, including with reference to interactive design and ability to perform basic data manipulation and transformation techniques to prepare data for visualisations.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperate with a team, excellent organisational skills, and a flexible approach to working;
