£29,365.00 per annum plus bonus and Veolia benefits


Hours:6am - 14:30pm and 9:30am - 18:00pm (Monday - Friday)

What will you be doing?

  • To manage the collection crews and ensure they are complying with all relevant legislation and all company policies and procedures in relation to their roles
  • To investigate and resolve with the crews, missed collections, complaints and service failures
  • Daily reviews of the work practices and operations of the crews.
  • Report all failings including, Health and Safety and welfare of the crews or members of the public to the Operations Manager
  • Be responsible for investigating and replying to service complaints by our customers within the timeframes set
  • Ensure driver checks are completed daily
  • To carry our first line investigations for absences and other breaches of policy and procedure. Report any accidents / incidents, near misses and safety concerns and ensure they are recorded onto the AVA system
  • Deliver basic training requirements for all drivers and crews including, inductions, operations of the vehicles, lifting equipment and risk assessments
  • Utilising staff and vehicle resources to ensure a swift and efficient dispatch in the morning
  • Debriefing drivers at the end of their working day, and relaying any operational issues encountered
  • You will be working as part of a team of Contract Supervisors and Operations Managers to ensure the city of Sheffield is covered efficiently in a range of areas, such as municipal bin collections, bin deliveries, bulky household collections and clinicalcollections

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience gained in a similar role
  • Experience gained in managing operational staff
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
  • IOSH Managing safely
  • Experience dealing with unions and a unionised workforce
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
