The School of Law and Social Justice wishes to appoint a Head of Law.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative and globally oriented Law School which is in a process of transformation reflected in significant growth in terms of research activity, education portfolio and recruitment of academic members of staff.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual who will make a difference in delivering the School's ambitious agenda which is underpinned by our values of social justice, excellence in research and education, equality and diversity, and openness to the world.


The Head of the Law School will report to the Dean of the School of Law and Social Justice, Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas.

You will provide leadership in contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of the School¿s plans and operation. You will work closely with the Dean and be part of the School Leadership Team.

You will be responsible for implementing School plans at Department level and will have significant responsibility for staff line management, including workload management and all aspects of staff development.

Working with the Associate Deans (Education, Research and International), and with three Associate Heads of Department, you will play a key role in implementing the School¿s Research, Student Experience and Internationalisation Strategies in the Department.


This role is set in the context of the academic distinction and leadership and institutional leadership core expectations for Heads of Department; the University¿s generic line management responsibilities; the University¿s definition of leadership skills and the definition of the behaviours that a leader is expected to demonstrate in our University.
