Description
Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about delivering high quality rehabilitation for our patients who are recovering from Stroke or neurological condition?

We are looking for a motivated and committed individual to join our thriving therapy family as a Therapy Assistant Practitioner.

This post would require you to provide rehabilitation for patients who have been diagnosed with a stroke or neurological condition.

In this role you will be required to manage a caseload independently with guidance from qualified therapists as required across the in-patient Stroke and Neuro wards.

This will include completing basic assessments of both physical and cognitive impairments, completing and reviewing objective measures and implementing and progressing therapy plans in line with patients goals.

You will work closely with nursing support workers to provide training on handling, positioning and equipment use, linking therapy and nursing needs, ensuring every contact is meaningful and supports patient recovery.

In return, we are committed to providing an excellent training package, tailored to your individual needs and aspirations.

We also encourage cross departmental links with other Practitioners to broaden your experience and facilitate an opportunity to learn from your peers and facilitate the learning of other assistants and students.

Assist in the day to day delivery of the Stroke Therapy Service, through direct patient contact, carrying out assessments and treatments in a timely manner without direct supervision.

Supporting qualified staff to prioritise the clinical caseload by providing relevant information and taking on delegated tasks to ensure a team approach.

Supporting the service during times of rotations for qualified staff, as well as involvement with student education.

Participation in clinical supervision in the form of regular access to qualified physiotherapists, informal feedback, training, and participation in the Trust appraisal process.
