Join Our Team as a Medical Secretary for the
ADHD Service


Are you an experienced medical secretary with a strong work ethic and a positive, "can-do" attitude? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our new
ADHD service at PHL Healthcare.

Your role will be crucial in providing efficient and meticulous administrative support to our clinicians.


About the Role:


As an
ADHD Medical Secretary, you will work closely with the
ADHD clinicians and administrators to assist patients in accessing the Hampshire Adult
ADHD service.

Our service, which has been successfully delivering virtual
ADHD care for adults on the Isle of Wight and young adults in Southampton City for the past three years, is expanding to cover the wider Hampshire & Isle of Wight (HIOW) area.


We handle all aspects of the
ADHD journey for adults, including diagnosis, medication reviews, and transition reviews for young adults moving from child to adult services.

The care pathway involves screening, triage, assessment, follow-up, medication reviews (initiation & titration), and annual reviews.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Use initiative to organise and prioritise workload, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Perform incoming and outgoing calls, managing communication between patients and the clinical team.
  • Manage queries raised by patients, relatives, GPs, and other healthcare providers.
  • Transcribe medical reports and dictations.
  • Maintain case notes to provide a full and accurate record of the patient's clinical progress.
  • Prepare and manage medical documents and reports.
  • Assist in the provision of medical audit data.

Skills & Experience:


  • Considerable experience in a medical secretary role.
  • Proven experience of providing medical secretarial support to a busy team and service.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • RSA III Typing and Audio or equivalent.
  • NVQ 4 Business Administration or equivalent.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months


Pay:
£14.35 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
