Descriptionhis role.


Role purpose
This role provides a unique opportunity to work alongside the CEO as their right hand support.


You will not only be providing high level executive support to the Chief Executive, but also work alongside the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) and lead in the organisation and management of their meetings.


You will act as a key link between the Strategic Leadership Team, external partners and Members to manage key issues on behalf of the CEO and to support the delivery of the corporate plan.


Key Activities:


  • Lead Officer for Strategic Leadership Team meetings ensuring the Chief Executive and SLT members are alert to issues involving key stakeholders at an early stage
  • Lead on the creation and maintenance of systems and procedures to manage the SLT meetings
  • Budget Management responsibility for the Chief Executive Cost Centre on behalf of the CEO
  • Provide high level executive support to the CEO including inbox and diary management
  • Demonstrate excellent political awareness and the ability to manage relationships and communicate professionally with Councillors, MPs, Senior Officers, Partners, external organisations, professionals and members of the public, on behalf of / when representing the Chief Executive.
  • Support corporate projects on behalf of the Chief Executive and undertake research and analysis as required at the direction of the CEO, SLT or Support and Operations Management team.
  • Draft, collate and distribute corporate communications on behalf of the CEO
  • Maintain positive and constructive relationships using own initiative and make appropriate judgements to identify solutions to problems, using tact and diplomacy when working with the public, Councillors and Council staff.
Top 6 Must Haves

  • Experience working at board level or supporting senior management/CEO level.
  • Experience working within a Local Authority, minuting meetings and liaising with Members
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Complex diary management experience / experience of Google/GSuite products
  • Must be able to commit for next 9 months.
  • Must be flexible to come into the offices 2/3 days per week (Kingston)
