We are looking for a HR Officer to join our fast paced, professional HR team based at our Marston Gate Site (MK43 0YL) on a full-time, permanent basis (hybrid working).

As an integral part of the team, you will provide an effective, efficient, timely and professional generalist HR service to operational management, functions management and employees across the UK, Supporting the business with change initiatives and the implementation of projects as required.

THE ROLE

  • Provide appropriate, accurate and consistent advice to support relevant managers, colleagues and line managers in matters including (but not limited to) attendance management, disciplinary &
grievance process, performance management, business restructures, health & wellbeing, TUPE process and contract termination procedures

  • Attend disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings, ensuring notes taken are accurate and appropriate and that investigations carried out meet both Company and legal requirements for a fair and
consistent process

  • Support and advise during business restructures, providing accurate financial information and calculations as necessary, to support Company decision making
  • Support and advise managers and employees in the implementation and delivery of performance improvement activities to ensure clear understanding of performance gaps and corrective actions.
  • Maintain good relationships with TU bodies, undertaking regular communication to resolve issues at the earliest opportunity.
  • Undertake all required training & development programmes implemented by the company to ensure ongoing compliance with business objectives.
  • Support employees and managers in welfare and capability processes and oversee occupational health referrals to ensure cases are managed in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure all relevant legal considerations are achieved when taking any steps to manage employee cases
  • Work with the wider HR Team to support business activities including recruitment activities, inductions, internal talent identification and development programmes.
  • Ensure all necessary recording and analysis of employee relation activities in an accurate and timely manner.

ABOUT YOU

  • Chartered member of CIPD (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience in a HR Officer or similar level position, advising managers of all levels on the full spectrum of HR matters
  • Experience of working in a fast environment (e.g. manufacturing, retail, logistics etc.)
  • Sound knowledge of employment law, particularly relating to disciplinary, absence management and equality
  • Knowledge of HR best practice
  • The ability to generate ideas on process improvement and best practice
  • A high level of IT literacy including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A full, valid driving licence (travel to other Yusen sites will be required)
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a bluecollar environment
  • Highly organised and able to effectively manage multiple cases, selfprioritise and remain calm under pressure
  • Ideally Mental Health First Aider trained or willing to undertake training
Experience with the TUPE process is desirable, as is experience with trade unions.
