We are looking for a committed customer service professional to join our Customer Service Team at South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils.


Salary:
£24,760 - £28,917 per annum

Hours:
Full time (37 hours per week)

Enhanced Annual Leave: 24 days per annum (plus bank holidays & some extra days between Christmas and new year)

Annualised Hours:
The potential to work extra hours and take extra leave


These are exciting times to be joining us, you'll be in at the start of something new as we develop our new Customer Service Centre and implement new systems to support us in improving our customer experience.


If you're flexible and eager to learn new things, then this role will give you that opportunity - over time you'll be able to increase your knowledge and skills and take on enquiries about an increasingly broad range of services the councils provide.

Don't know much about your local councils? Don't worry we'll make sure that you have all the training and knowledge you need to get you started and you'll get great support from the team around you.


Your Skills
Do you have great communication skills and a customer service qualification or can demonstrate solid Customer Service experience? Do you have empathy for your customers, able to listen and help with solutions? Are you able to work under pressure at times, remain calm and professional always, and maintain your attention to detail? Do you like a mix of home and office working - able to work alone sometimes and also be a key part of a great team?

Taking ownership of each enquiry, managing customer expectations and resolving queries where you can in line with the councils' 'once and done' principles

Taking payments from customers who are unable to use our online payments system

Setting up new customer accounts for the garden waste service, processing cancellations, moves etc as well as responding to a wide range of customer enquiries about the service


Promoting self-service by supporting customers with the use of telephones, self-serve terminals and web access points located within reception areas.
