The Role
We are looking for self-motivated, dynamic, driven individuals and who are committed to providing assertive outreach to women in the community, to engage or re-engage them onto wellbeing services and drug and alcohol treatment.
- Conduct street outreach to engage/reengage homeless individuals misusing substances.
- Deliver streetbased, gender trauma informed interventions.
- Engage and build relationships with women who are rough sleepers/street active.
- Streetbased needs assessments/harm reduction advice including Naloxone distribution.
- Develop robust pathways between existing homeless and outreach service/housing services.
- Support access/reengagement with local treatment provider.
- Support Opiate users with rapid prescribing access with use of virtual prescribing clinics.
- Manage a case load of those with complex needs including substance misuse. Working with partner agencies to support them to become stable and ready to engage with local treatment providers.
- Work in collaboration with housing teams, local authority, and other treatment agencies to minimise the prevalence of street drinking and antisocial behaviour by supporting people into treatment.
- To deliver drug and alcohol training to partner services.
- Flexible working patterns.
The main purpose of the role is to provide excellent quality/support with strong communication skills as you will be providing care to women who use our services who may be mentally unwell, have experienced trauma and who have struggled to engage with mainstream services.
Direct experience in substance misuse is not mandatory, although the applicant must be able to learn on the job and be willing to undertake training.
The Service
Via Rough Sleepers Projects is an integrated community service which offers Intensive Recovery Outreach And Dedicated Support to Rough Sleepers in Camden & Islington.
The service consists of both clinical and psychosocial elements and is CQC registered to provide a range of interventions including BBV and health interventions, OST, and community detox.
Camden/Islington - This is a great opportunity to be involved with the delivery of a dynamic service and finding the most effective and creative ways to engage with people who have multiple and often complex needs. You will work as part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary outreach team to offer person centred support, and engagement into treatment.
