An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Skye & Lochalsh Integrated Community Team.

A Permanent Driver / Handyman position has been created, working in the Day care service based at Airdferry Resource Centre in Dornie and also at the Dr Mackinnon Memorial Hospital Renal Unit.

We are looking for a motivated & enthusiastic individual to work in a team which delivers support to older adults and Patients undergoing regular Renal Dialysis.

The position is shared between the two services and managed by the day care manager.

The base at the beginning and end of each working day will be from Dr Mackinnon Memorial Hospital and travel to Airdferry will be inclusive in the hours of work.

Day care services will require the transport of older adults in a wheelchair accessible mini-bus. The post holder will be responsible for the handyman requirements of the building and small gardening requirements. They will be available to support similar services where required.

The Renal Outpatient Unit has a small number of regular patients who require patient transport from their homes to the hospital and the return journey.

This post will support the transport needs of a limited number of patients to have their treatment completed.

The post job hours are structured as a morning shift of and an afternoon shift of Monday to Friday. This split shift is in order to provide morning and lunch Dialysis transport and also Day care transportation. There is no weekend working required.

This split shift would mean the post could be considered as a job share if two individuals were willing to work the complimentary shifts.

Successful applicants will be required to register with the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme and hold a valid driver's licence.

Experience is desirable but not essential.
