Atkins Search are currently recruiting for a Materials Buyer to join a highly reputable, and award winning residential developer based in Nottingham.

We also welcome Assistant Buyers to apply.

My client are a traditional house-builder, well known for their classic and innovative designs and style. Operating for over 75 years, they have a marvellous selection of 2 to 5 bedroom developments in the East Midland region with the best to come next year

As Materials Buyer, you will be working closely with the Technical team to purchase materials for live sites, and will be responsible for implementing COINS processes and procedures into the Commercial team.

What will you be doing as Materials Buyer?

Preparing schedules to send out for tender
Analysing tenders and report back to management
Preparing budget cost documentation and monitor through to completion of works.
Sourcing local suppliers and negotiate terms to enable group buying alternatives within the region
Attending site meetings and liaise with site agents in regards to materials on site
Liaising closely with directors to ensure regional agreements are utilised
Checking all invoices to ensure they are in accordance with delivery tickets/orders
Preparing schedules accurately
Implementation of COINS system
Using COINS system for order placement and payment of suppliers.
Assisting in surveying duties to include subcontractor buying
Keeping accurate records for site plant and equipment
Ensuring Health & Safety equipment for all operatives is recorded and kept up to date in accordance with current legislation.
Obtaining supplier details and drawings for approval from the Director.
Previous experience in a similar role
Knowledge of COINS systems
Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisation skills
Be able to work effectively within a team and individually
Good at problem solving
