If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Walker, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting students with special educational needs, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their educational goals.

Responsibilities:

Provide oneonone support to a student with special educational needs, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and engagement in educational activities.
Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to develop and implement personalized learning plans tailored to the student's needs.
Support the student in accessing the curriculum, including adapting materials and resources as necessary.
Assist with personal care tasks, if required, while maintaining dignity and respecting the student's individuality.
Foster a positive and nurturing environment that encourages the student's social and emotional development.
Promote independence and the development of key life skills, providing guidance and encouragement as needed.
Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and communicate effectively with the teacher, parents, and other stakeholders.
Participate in relevant training and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, particularly with children with special educational needs, is desirable.
A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs and a commitment to inclusive education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students to create a trusting relationship.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to changing circumstances.
Knowledge of relevant strategies and techniques for supporting students with special educational needs is an advantage.
A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is preferred, but not essential.
