We are currently recruiting a full-time Facilities/Postal Assistant to join the Facilities Management team based at our Doxford Park, Sunderland head office.

In this busy and varied role, you will work as part of a small team, typically working 3 days per week delivering mail internally to numerous offices, sites and depots using a company vehicle.

As well as carrying out post room activities including the opening, distribution and franking of mail.

You will also support the Facilities Management team with various activities including administration duties, office checks and moves, where you will liaise with service providers and contractors.

You will demonstrate a high level of security awareness and knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures and general Health & Safety requirements.


Opening, recording and distribution of all incoming mail - to ensure post and equipment is delivered promptly to all offices, sites and depots of the Group.

Assist the Facilities department with office moves including furniture removal/distribution, carpark facilitation, and other general ad hoc projects.


Support and assist the Facilities Technical Services Manager and the team with administration requirements including the uploading of maintenance compliance documents.

Assist in the delivery of Facilities Management services to a high standard. Identifying opportunities that will continuously improve all aspects of FM operations.

Act as point of contact for company departments and contractors ensuring lines of communication are maintained and regularly monitored.


Demonstrate a high level of security awareness, knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures as well as general Health & Safety understanding.

Provide Reception and front of house cover at lunchtimes and also on an as required basis for holidays/absence.


What we are looking for:

It is essential you have a full UK drivers licence.


You will have building maintenance experience, ideally gained in a Facilities environment, with an understanding of general Health and Safety.


Experience in general administration tasks using various in-house systems and Microsoft Office packages, including Outlook and inputting data in Excel.

You will have excellent communication skills, and great attention to detail. with previous experience in delivering excellent customer care.
