Days / Nights 40hrs a week.

Information about the Role:

Working as an Associate Specialist at Elizabeth House your duties will include the following:

You will be working with a multi-professional team delivering individualised care and treatment of patients with complex mental health disorders.
You will be required to participate in the oncall rota.
Ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours.
Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family.
Completing discharge letters / reports / s62 forms as required in a timely manner.
Preparing Firsttier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of consultant.
Depending on your experience, providing oral evidence at Firsttier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings under the supervision of the Consultant.
Contributing to the service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities by conducting audits, research and teaching.
Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that patients always have access to appropriate medical cover.

Information about the Service:

Our service at Elizabeth House provides a safe and stabilising environment for men and women who are in crisis, experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and requiring an emergency admission.

Service users may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act.

Our aim is to provide high quality holistic, MDT based care to assess, treat and plan discharge of patients to further treatment and care in the community, in their local areas as needed.

Elizabeth House has a full on-site multidisciplinary team who work together to develop and deliver a holistic plan of care to meet the needs of each individual.

The team includes a Consultant Psychiatrist, Associate Specialist, Consultant Psychologist, Assistant Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Workers and Activity Coordinators.

All of our services have 24 hour medical cover and can accept admissions 24 hours a day.

Experience and qualifications:

Full GMC registration
Experience working in psychiatry within multidisciplinary teams
To be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
At least 3 years' experience in Psychiatry
Experience working as a doctor within similar environment
MRCPsych
Section approval
AC status
