An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Patient Access Coordinator within the Dermatology Department at Guys Hospital.


The Patient Access Coordinator will be the first point of contact for patients and service users providing an in depth knowledge of customer care and referral processing.

The post holder will liaise closely with the clinical team and management teams to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate appointments according to their care pathway.


The post holder will be required to support the team with scheduling appointments, receptionist duties, telephone cover and other general administrative duties.


The St John's Institute of Dermatology provides a comprehensive general dermatology service, as well as a wide range of multi-disciplinary specialist services (see our web page).

Its primary role is the delivery of excellence in clinical service, education and training, research and development in Dermatology and is one of the largest outpatient facilities at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

The main duties will include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Managing referrals
  • Managing appointments for cancer patients
  • Dealing with patient/doctor/nurse telephone queries.
  • Receptionist duties
  • Assisting with cashing up clinics correctly
  • Managing clinic letters.
