This role presents a fantastic opportunity to join the Falmouth Finance Team, at Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, which is part of Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, a FTSE 100 company.

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the finance team with the day-to-day running of the accounting function and other related finance tasks.


This opportunity will enable you to work across different areas of finance to gain confidence, experience and build a portfolio of evidence for apprenticeship accreditation.


Supervision and support will be provided and available to you during all tasks as you achieve the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) professional qualification.


This role will focus on:


  • Support month end financial close activities
  • Using Microsoft Dynamics AX software to maintain the nominal ledger and accounts
  • Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Prepayments and accruals
  • Fixed asset process control, postings and reporting
  • Intercompany processing
  • Transactional processing (credit cards and journal entry)
  • Identifying and supporting with continuous improvements in process and controls
  • Any other ad hoc duties as requested by line manager or Financial Controller.

To be successful in this role, you will need: Essential**- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/grade C or above

  • 2 x A Levels / BTEC or Equivalent
  • Ability to work collaboratively & communicate effectively with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Selfdisciplined and efficient, with a positive, flexible and proactive nature.
  • Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills with a good attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize & manage multiple tasks.

Desirable

  • Excel and data manipulation skills
