College of Science and Engineering / School of Biological Sciences / Biology Teaching Organisation**
Open ended (Permanent)
**Full time, 35 hours per week

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead the School of Biological Sciences' academic administration and student support function.

With a strong track record in the management of teaching administration and student support in a higher education setting, you will be expert in managing a large team to deliver the highest quality of academic and support services to students and staff.


The Opportunity:


This role is responsible for the management of administrative, technical, student support and demonstrating services for learning and teaching in the School.

The post-holder oversees a team of 39 staff to develop, implement and deliver the School's objectives related to learning and teaching.

The post-holder is also a member of the School's senior professional services team.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of all aspects of teaching administration and student support in a higher education environment, proven through significant experience in a teaching administration and student support management role
  • Significant experience of line management of staff, able to inspire, motivate, mentor and develop teams and individuals.
  • A proven track record developing service models and managing service improvement, including identifying and implementing new initiatives to improve service delivery.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including people and negotiating, influencing and relationship building
  • Committed to working in a supportive and open environment with a good understanding of diversity in the workplace and the ability to act as a role model for inclusion and respect
