College of Science and Engineering / School of Biological Sciences / Biology Teaching Organisation**
Open ended (Permanent)
**Full time, 35 hours per week

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead the School of Biological Sciences' academic administration and student support function.

With a strong track record in the management of teaching administration and student support in a higher education setting, you will be expert in managing a large team to deliver the highest quality of academic and support services to students and staff.

The Opportunity:

This role is responsible for the management of administrative, technical, student support and demonstrating services for learning and teaching in the School.

The post-holder oversees a team of 39 staff to develop, implement and deliver the School's objectives related to learning and teaching.

The post-holder is also a member of the School's senior professional services team.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Excellent knowledge and understanding of all aspects of teaching administration and student support in a higher education environment, proven through significant experience in a teaching administration and student support management role
Significant experience of line management of staff, able to inspire, motivate, mentor and develop teams and individuals.
A proven track record developing service models and managing service improvement, including identifying and implementing new initiatives to improve service delivery.
Outstanding interpersonal skills including people and negotiating, influencing and relationship building
Committed to working in a supportive and open environment with a good understanding of diversity in the workplace and the ability to act as a role model for inclusion and respect
