The Business Management Office (BMO) team for the Architecture, Data, Information and Innovation (ADII) team within DDTS is recruiting a Business Support Officer.

The BMO provides support to the various teams within ADII with resource management, procurement, secretariat, and governance activities. Our offices are located throughout England with larger digital hubs in Bristol, Warrington, York and Reading.

Our ambition is to make easier and faster than ever for people to interact with Defra. To achieve this, we are continuously designing, building and supporting innovative, user-cantered digital technology.


You will play a key role in supporting the team in their day to day work, helping to prioritise their time effectively, shape their agenda, and support them to deliver their job as effectively as possible.

You will be collating information across our responsibilities e.g. to support finances, recruitment, resource planning, risk management, internal audits and IR35 assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Collating information across our responsibilities e.g. support finances, recruitment, resource planning, risk management, internal audits and IR35 assessment.
  • Manage ADII BMO and Technology Governance mailbox, flagging for action, monitoring responses and answering queries.
  • Ordering IT kits for new joiners and collections for those who are leaving.
  • Setting up, extending and closing employees accounts, providing support and updates as required.
  • Uploading PRB requests on to Eploy and monitoring approvals.
  • Monitor and manage deadlines and alerts for requests, reports, communication plans and other supporting documentation.
  • Manage ADII contact and distribution lists and organogram.

Skills and Experience

  • Sound administrative skills, able to organise and prioritise when under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience of working effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates high level of attention to detail.
